The demands of business for accurate and up-to-date catalogue data are constantly growing, particularly when the needs of instant on-line accuracy are considered. Managing and maintaining multiple catalogues and ensuring that all new or altered content is integrated into backend systems has in the past been a costly task that required many hours of tedious data keying and re-keying with ample room for human error.

Overview

Developed in Australia, Product Catalogue Manager (PCM) provides a simple and cost-effective way to manage these volumes of catalogue data. It is designed to benefit any business, large or small that requires;

  • Efficient catalogue management
  • Rapid catalogue management implementation
  • Easy to use product data integration
  • A fully featured catalogue interface tool

PCM enables any size of business to manage its catalogue requirements. Designed to make the preparation and maintenance of catalogue data as smooth and simple as possible, PCM extracts data both from existing systems and via data entry. The data is verified for accuracy before translation into a format that the receiving catalogue accepts and can then be forwarded internally, to a trading partner via EDI or uploaded onto an Internet catalogue. Using the simple PCM templates, the same data can be provided in a range of file formats to different catalogues.
For example, it is simple to send product information to EANnet using PCM. The PCM software can extract the relevant data from an existing in-house database, format it automatically to GS1 Australia’s requirements using a template and upload to GS1 Australia using the EANCOM standard.
