David Golob
David Golob, who serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors, has been a director of GXS since 2002. Mr. Golob has been a Partner of Francisco Partners since joining the firm in September 2001. From 1998 to 2000, he was a Managing Director with Tiger Management, where he was co-head of the global technology group and focused on the software industry. Prior to Tiger, Mr. Golob spent several years as a private equity investor focused on the software industry at General Atlantic Partners and Sutter Hill Ventures. Earlier in his career, he was a management consultant with McKinsey & Company and a Product Manager with Newport Systems Solutions, Inc. (acquired by Cisco). Mr. Golob serves on the board of directors of Attachmate, Barracuda Networks, City Index, Foundation 9 Entertainment, GXS, and RedPrairie, and previously served on the boards of ADERANT (sold to a financial buyer), Office Tiger (sold to RR Donnelly) and Primavera (sold to Oracle). Mr. Golob holds an AB in chemistry from Harvard College, summa cum laude, and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Prescott Ashe
Prescott Ashe is a Managing Director of Golden Gate Capital. He has 15 years of private equity investing experience and has participated in both growth equity and management buyout transactions with more than $10.0 billion in value. Mr. Ashe focuses on technology-related industries, specifically software, IT services, electronic hardware and manufacturing services, the consumer products and retail sectors, and business services. Prior to joining Golden Gate Capital, Mr. Ashe was a Principal at Bain Capital, which he joined in 1991, and a strategy consultant at Bain & Company. Mr. Ashe holds a JD from Stanford Law School and a BS in Business Administration from the University of California at Berkeley where he graduated first in his class.
Kevin P. Genda
Kevin P. Genda is a Senior Managing Director of Cerberus Capital Management, LP and Vice Chairman of Ableco Finance LLC. Cerberus Capital Management and its affiliates comprise one of the largest private investment firms in the United States, with over $27.0 billion of capital under management. Mr. Genda oversees the Cerberus Companies’ lending activities. Prior to joining Cerberus and Ableco in 1995, Mr. Genda served as the Vice President for new business origination and evaluation at Foothill Capital Corporation, where he was active in loan origination and distressed investing. He previously worked at Huntington Holdings, a $300.0 million leveraged buyout firm, and at The CIT Group/Business Credit, Inc. as an analyst for new investments and credits. Mr. Genda is a director of the Commercial Finance Association (CFA) and the Turnaround Manager Associations (TMA). He is a graduate of Yale University.
Gary G. Greenfield
Gary Greenfield is Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Avid Technology. Greenfield joined the company in December 2007 and is overseeing a number of initiatives designed to achieve greater operating efficiencies within and across the company’s Video, Audio, and Consumer divisions and to solidify Avid’s position as a world leader in designing and developing innovative content creation, media production, and broadcast solutions.
A proven senior executive with multidisciplinary experience in high technology, Greenfield was CEO of GXS from 2003 to 2007, a leading worldwide provider of business-to-business integration, synchronization and collaboration solutions. Since December 2003, he has also been an operating partner with Francisco Partners, a leading technology-focused private equity firm.
Previously, he served as CEO of Peregrine Systems where he managed the restructuring of their business; president and CEO of MERANT; and while CEO of INTERSOLV, they merged with Micro Focus to form MERANT. He has experience growing businesses both organically and through acquisition, managing development, marketing and operations, and serving diverse customers from small businesses to the Fortune 500.
Greenfield earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master of Science Administration from George Washington University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Venkat Mohan
Venkat Mohan has been a Director since the recapitalization and is a member of the Compensation Committee. Mr. Mohan is an Operating Partner at Norwest Venture Partners, which he joined in 2000. Before joining Norwest Venture Partners, Mr. Mohan served for several years as President and Chief Operating Officer of OnDisplay, a leading provider of business-to-business infrastructure software and services. From September 1996 to October 1999, Mr. Mohan also served as our Vice President of Global Marketing and Business Development. He was also President of Cadis Software, Ltd., a software start-up company, from 1993 to 1996 and Chief Executive Officer of WIPRO Systems, Ltd., one of India’s largest software companies, from 1988 to 1990. In addition, he previously worked for Hewlett Packard, Young & Rubicam, and McKinsey & Company. Mr. Mohan also sits on the board of directors for Epiance Inc. and the 41st Parameter, Inc. Norwest Venture Partners is one of the co-investors in our company.
My Le Nguyen
My Le Nguyen is a Vice President of Francisco Partners where she evaluates and executes private equity investments across the technology industry. Ms. Nguyen currently serves on the boards of WatchGuard Technologies and EF Johnson Technologies. Prior to joining Francisco Partners in 2005, Ms. Nguyen worked at Morgan Stanley in the Technology Group, where she executed a number of transactions across the software, systems and internet sectors. Previously, she worked at IDG Ventures, a leading global venture capital firm. Ms. Nguyen has a BA in economics from Stanford University and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Bob Segert
Mr. Segert has served as a member of the GXS board of directors since joining the company in January 2008. Since January 2012 he has also served as a director of EPAM Systems, Inc. [NYSE: EPAM], a leading global IT services provider with delivery centers throughout Central and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Segert brings more than 15 years of broad and diverse business leadership experience to GXS as President and Chief Executive Officer. He has extensive experience in executing corporate and business unit strategies, profit and loss management, business development and sales and marketing. Prior to joining GXS in 2008, Mr. Segert was leader of the Global Financial Products Industry at EDS. In this role, Mr. Segert drove global industry strategies, product offerings, go-to-market approaches and sales support for the financial services industry. Mr. Segert oversaw mission-critical services, such as financial transaction processing, mortgage and consumer loan processing, life insurance business process outsourcing (BPO) and credit card processing.
While at EDS, Mr. Segert also served as Chief Marketing Officer, General Manager of US Financial Services and Managing Director of Corporate Strategy and Planning.
Previously, Mr. Segert held roles at A.T. Kearney and Frito-Lay. He received a Master of Business Administration degree from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University.
Carl Wilson
Carl Wilson has been a Director since December 2003. He has been Executive Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Marriott International, Inc. since 1997. He has global accountability for all business information technology resources. Before joining Marriott, Mr. Wilson served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Information Resources for Georgia-Pacific Corporation. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice President of Management Information Services for the Food and International Retailing Sectors of Grand Metropolitan Plc. and Vice President of Information Management for The Pillsbury Company. Mr. Wilson is a member of the AT&T Executive Customer Advisory Council. Mr. Wilson also serves as a director for Enamics, Inc. and Software Architects, Inc.
