Course Description:

The course covers how to define data structures for EDI-formatted data and application data (user-defined formats); create mapping relationships between input and output data, and; define rules to evaluate data, read data from an input file, use memory variables for data storage and retrieval, and perform data calculations.

Participants learn how to initiate translation sessions and troubleshoot mapping errors; generate and interpret activity reports, and; perform administrative tasks associated with processing EDI data as well as how to create profiles that define each trading partner's processing requirements.

Required Prerequisites:
  • Programming experience or experience with IF-THEN-ELSE logic
  • Basic knowledge of Windows
  • Experience with EDI and EDI document structure
In-depth familiarity with your company's business processes and EDI strategies

 

Course Objective:

Participants will be able to perform all tasks required for successful translation of inbound and outbound EDI data, including enveloping and de-enveloping and how to migrate from test to production environments.
