Tweeter Taps Global eXchange Services for Fully Integrated EDI Outsourcing and Worldwide Logistics Solution
Top Electronics Retailer with 174 Stores Represents Key Customer Win Since Acquiring Logistics Integration Leader Celarix in June

NRF 93rd Annual Convention NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- 01/12/2004 Global eXchange Services, Inc. today announced that Tweeter Home Entertainment Group (Nasdaq: TWTR) has selected the company to provide the nation's premier specialty consumer electronics retailer with complete EDI outsourcing for communicating purchase orders, shipping notices and invoices with their suppliers, in addition to a comprehensive Logistics Visibility(TM) solution. Tweeter becomes another leading retailer to join the Global eXchange Services' logistics customer base.

The Logistics Visibility solution, obtained through the acquisition of Celarix in June, tracks the inbound status of orders and shipments - from order creation to proof of delivery - and enables Tweeter to achieve performance gains in inventory management, warehouse receiving and personnel productivity, while reducing stock-outs. Tightly integrated with Logistics Visibility, EDI outsourcing service ensures clean, accurate, and timely flow of order, shipment and invoice information by integrating with Tweeter's internal enterprise systems, external trading partners, and transportation carriers worldwide. Tweeter will also utilize the full range of Global eXchange Services' professional services including trading partner on-boarding.

"Tweeter must continue to capitalize on its extended supply chain initiatives," said Bill Morrison, vice president and chief information officer, Tweeter Home Entertainment Group. "Logistics is one of the most important areas for us to master. We reviewed multiple vendors in a rigorous evaluation process. We selected Global eXchange Services due to its track record for operational excellence in EDI outsourcing - paired with its logistics expertise, tightly integrated logistics visibility application, extensive trading partner network and robust data quality management services."

Tweeter's visibility into its logistics operations has been a largely manual effort. The retailer was challenged to meet its benchmarks for timeliness and accuracy of information due to the volume of data and the number of suppliers with which it conducts business. By outsourcing its EDI logistics efforts to Global eXchange Services, Tweeter's order fulfillment, merchandise, sales, transportation and distribution groups will have faster access to better information.

"Our strategy is to embed visibility and analytics into our global transaction delivery services that enable our customers to greatly improve business process automation requirements in a fully integrated, cost effective offering," said Jeff McCroskey, senior vice president of Business Development, Global eXchange Services. "Logistics represents a key area and that drove our acquisition of Celarix earlier this year. Earning Tweeter's business just a few months later is a great endorsement of the value that strategy represents."

Global eXchange Services' Logistics Visibility provides a centralized source for all critical logistics information about any order shipment, regardless of transportation mode. Consolidating information across transportation service providers, customs brokers, trading partners, the application tracks essential information - from shipment bill of lading down to order, case, item and SKU - providing a summary of shipments, orders and items as well as their status throughout the supply chain.
