GXS to Highlight Strategic Value from Next Generation B2B Solutions at webMethods Integration World 2005
GXS B2B Integration Customer Forum to Run Concurrently with Integration World

GAITHERSBURG, Md. — November 14, 2005GXS, a leading provider of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce solutions, today announced extensive participation at Integration World 2005. webMethods (NASDAQ: WEBM) fourth annual global user conference, Integration World, will take place from November 14 to 16 at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta and features attendees from around the world gathering to discuss and share best practices and innovations in business integration. GXS and webMethods together will demonstrate joint solutions established through the companies’ strategic partnership and will highlight new sources of customer advantage in global B2B integration.

As the exclusive diamond sponsor of Integration World, GXS will host a series of interactive presentations throughout the event, including a keynote presentation during the general session on Wednesday, November 16. Bobby Patrick, GXS’ chief marketing officer, and Deborah Rosen, webMethods’ executive vice president of worldwide marketing, will discuss the momentum behind the partnership’s Next Generation B2B solutions, including how these solutions are accelerating global trading partner enablement and streamlining cross-enterprise business processes.

Other GXS’ representatives will host presentations throughout the event as follows:
  • “The Role of Service-Oriented Architecutures in B2B e-Commerce,” presented by John Radko, chief technology strategist, GXS;
  • “Powering the Product Lifecycle through Next Generation B2B Solutions,” presented by Rory O’Neill, director of strategic partnerships, GXS;
  • “Optimizing Your B2B Strategy,” presented by Nick Marchetti, vice president Trading Grid infrastructure and services, GXS; and
  • “Maximizing Manufacturing Industry Business Intelligence through Partner Integration,” presented by Pradheep Sampath, senior global product manager, visibility and collaboration solutions, GXS.
B2B integration is an emerging trend that crosses vertical industry and geographic barriers and is increasingly recognized as a necessary step toward greater business process efficiency. Forrester Research, in its recent WaveTM report1 entitled, “Forrester WaveTM: Integration Suites: Q3, 2005,” confirmed this evolution and included GXS as a “Leader” among integration suite providers. “GXS is a longtime powerhouse in the B2B integration world, and it has entered the integration suite space via its strategic partnership with webMethods. This partnership is stronger than a normal partnership, in that it significantly enhances both vendors’ integration offerings. GXS has a strong global presence that will become increasingly important as multinational firms attempt to increase the effectiveness of their application- and process-based interactions.”

GXS to Host B2B Integration Customer Forum at Integration World
Concurrent to Integration World, GXS will host its annual B2B integration customer forum, bringing together GXS customers from across the Fortune 500 to discuss global B2B integration strategies and best practices. The forum will be held at the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, November 13 to 16. GXS’ customers, Bowater, Coca-Cola and DHL, among others, will deliver presentations on their B2B integration environments at the forum. The customer forum also will include presentations from GXS and webMethods executives. Among the topics to be discussed are an update on GXS’ integration portfolio, best practices in Sarbanes Oxley compliance, business process management solutions, and business activity monitoring solutions.

“B2B integration is experiencing a resurgence as an important strategic priority for businesses today. As companies continue to outsource operations and manufacturing around-the-world for strategic advantage, successful integration initiatives will be integral to a company’s success or failure,” said Patrick. “Through this conference, we will demonstrate how GXS and webMethods have come together to help companies improve operational efficiency outside of their four walls while maintaining brand and manufacturing control and visibility. We are pleased to have many GXS customers on hand who will report on the success of their own initiatives enabled by the combined services of GXS and webMethods.”

In November 2004, GXS and webMethods announced a broad strategic partnership in which the two companies are jointly reselling, developing and marketing end-to-end business integration solutions. Central to that partnership is the combination of webMethods Fabric, webMethods’ flagship product suite for business integration, with GXS Trading GridSM, GXS’ unique global integration platform that enables and streamlines cross-enterprise business processes. Among the joint solutions offered through the partnership are GXS Enterprise Gateway and GXS Partner Gateway, which integrate GXS Trading Grid with webMethods Fabric to form best-of-breed B2B integration services for medium-sized and enterprise businesses. In addition, webMethods also has licensed GXS Product Information Management solution, which is offered as a component of the webMethods Fabric product suite.

“With the growth in business process outsourcing, extended supply chains and alternative customer service channels, enterprises are increasingly reliant on external business relationships,” said Deborah Rosen, executive vice president, Worldwide Marketing, webMethods, Inc. “For numerous global companies, the webMethods/GXS partnership enables these enterprises to operate and thrive in an heterogeneous world. The webMethods/GXS joint solution helps eliminate common barriers to fully integrating their trading partner networks. In doing so, it provides enterprise with the ability to be far more strategic in their planning and responsive in their operations. We look forward to having the GXS user base join us in Atlanta.”
