GXS Trading Grid® Achieves “Certified for SAP NetWeaver®” Status
GXS Adds Systrust and SAS-70 Type II Certifications to Support Customers’ Broad B2B Integration Needs
ORLANDO, Fla.—May 5, 2008—GXS, a leading provider of business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce solutions, today announced at the SAPPHIRE® 2008 Orlando conference that GXS Trading Grid® has achieved “Certified for SAP NetWeaver®” status. It is also Systrust and SAS-70 Type II Certified. GXS recently renewed its SAP and SAS-70 certifications and added Systrust certification to support its large and growing base of clients requiring integration with accounting packages and financial services solutions. These certifications demonstrate that GXS Trading Grid is interoperable and compliant with accepted and widely-used business standards and technologies such as the SAP NetWeaver platform. GXS Trading Grid is used by more than 35,000 companies around the world to achieve inter-enterprise integration and to improve the efficiency of cross-enterprise business processes such as purchasing, payments and logistics optimization. By adding to the base of certifications held by GXS Trading Grid, companies can be assured that GXS’ software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based solutions will meet their company’s needs and business goals. For example, after undergoing rigorous evaluation and testing, GXS Trading Grid renewed its SAP® Certified Integration status. The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that GXS Trading Grid properly integrates with the SAP ERP application Release 6.0. Companies seeking integration with SAP NetWeaver can be assured that GXS Trading Grid is fully interoperable with SAP NetWeaver and that common integration challenges have already been addressed and resolved. In addition, customers also are assured of the quality and ongoing compatibility of GXS’ services. “With GXS’ SaaS-based solutions, the possibilities for B2B and supply chain integration are nearly endless. Companies are facing greater demands from customers, suppliers, logistics providers and regulatory bodies for seamless interoperability between diverse platforms through solutions that utilize standards, but maintain flexibility to meet business needs,” said John Radko, GXS’ chief technology strategist. “By achieving Certified for SAP NetWeaver status for GXS Trading Grid, GXS is helping to ensure that its solutions meet customers’ needs for easy integration with SAP ERP. These certifications show our commitment to accelerating value in customers’ B2B deployments.” SAS-70 certification, issued by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), begins with an audit to establish, report and provide assurance on a company’s or service provider’s operational controls and their effectiveness. Conducted by an independent auditor, SAS 70 Type II certification is the highest level of certification attainable and is a valuable asset for meeting Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and in the growth of business process outsourcing and SaaS. Similarly, Systrust certification also is issued by the AICPA along with the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (CICA). Systrust is an assurance service designed to evaluate and test whether a specific system is reliable when measured against four essential principles: availability, security, integrity and maintainability. At the completion of a SysTrust engagement, an opinion is rendered on whether effective controls are maintained and provide reasonable assurance that the SysTrust principles were achieved. GXS achieved Systrust certification on all four principles. Interoperability between SaaS applications and other IT systems is crucially important to the successful and efficient operation of an enterprise. In a recent report1, Robert Desisto of Gartner said, “Organizations must establish a data accessibility strategy that clearly understands data interdependencies to support information delivery and ensure the attainability of strategic data that is crucial for the agility of an enterprise. As critical components in SaaS adoption, data interdependencies and interoperability need to be clearly defined between SaaS applications and other applications in the broader IT ecosystem.” GXS Trading Grid is a global B2B e-commerce and integration platform that supports the creation and adoption of on-demand supply chain management solutions for companies of any size.
