Active Price

Active Price is a hosted SaaS application service that enables retailers, distributors/bottlers and manufacturers to synchronize information related to price schedules and trade promotions.

Manufacturers of food, beverages and consumer products spend up to 25% of marketing dollars on trade promotions. Many of these promotions are not offered to the consumer due to breakdowns in communication throughout the supply chain. The biggest challenges are in multi-tiered supply chains such as the carbonated soft drinks and alcoholic beverage sectors.

With Active Price, suppliers can create price records and promotional events or make changes to existing items. Suppliers can then publish prices and promotional events to distributor/bottlers and retailers. Retailers can subscribe to data feeds for pricing and promotional data associated with new items or changes to existing items.

Ensure Greater Awareness of Your Product Among Potential Buyers

  • Cross-Brand Distribution—Supports full-truck/whole-house distribution of third-party brands. Pricing is stored by GXS as a neutral third party on a hosted, multi-tenant database.
  • Supply Chain Models Supported—Enables both two-tier and three-tier distribution models for both warehouse and direct-store-delivery models.
  • Multiple Synchronization Options—Performed using the Global Data Synchronization Network (GDSN) via Data Pools such as 1SYNC. Trading partners not connected to the GDSN can exchange upload data using web services or FTP in formats such as EDI, XML, and comma-delimited files.
  • Web Interface—Create or modify data related to pricing, promotions, trading partners and organizational hierarchies, or create a set of standardized and ad-hoc reports.
  • Community On-Boarding—GXS performs on-boarding of all trading partners including distributors, bottlers, third-party brand owners and third-party suppliers.
  • Discounts and Promotion Support—Supports types including suggested retail; net price; quantity tiered; Every Day Low Price (EDLP); display; ad; grand opening; Buy One Get One free (BOGO); mix n match; off-invoice adjustment; and bill backs.

Dramatically Increase Sales and Revenue. Avoid Lost Sales Due to Disputes.

  • Price Communication—Significantly reduce the amount of time sales teams spend communicating pricing to retailers.
  • Standardized Processes—Standardize price communication processes nationally for retail chains, independent of the number of bottlers or distributors utilized.
  • Advance Notice for Advertising—Provide retailers with the appropriate advanced notice required to effectively plan and market promotions.
  • Fewer Invoice Deductions—Reduce back-office invoice disputes and processing with price and promotion synchronization.
